This week:
- Making the sculpture
I began making an internal structure using cardboard, metal, newspaper and masking tape.

At this point there was metal inside to help keep the shape, which I then covered in cardboard.
I used scrunched up newspaper to bulk the sculpture. I secured it with masking tape.
I bought hessian and plaster to cover the internal structure in. I cut the hessian into smaller squares and mixed the plaster. The first time I mixed too much which meant it started to set before I got the chance to use all of it.
Big Mess.
After this failed attempt, I made many smaller batches instead to avoid wasting so much plaster. This system was more effective!
The bit that sticks up needed some propping up, so will have to consider how to do this next week.
I will finish covering the sculpture next week.
